In Florida Mitt Romney Rips Newt Gingrich

“ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Mitt Romney landed here Sunday with a simple message: Newt Gingrich is a failure and a fraud. And a disgrace. And a hapless showman.

Standing under a brilliant orange Florida sunset, Romney delivered his longest sustained critique of the South Carolina primary winner to date – ticking through a list as if he were reading off Gingrich`s Wikipedia page, and undercutting each item as he got to it.” Politico.Com

“Eighty-four ethics charges were filed against Gingrich during his term as speaker, all by Democrats. Eighty-three of the charges were later dropped. After extensive investigation and negotiation by the House Ethics Committee, Gingrich was reprimanded and penalized $300,000 by a 395-28 House vote. It was the first time in the history of the House that a speaker was disciplined for an ethics violation.” Wikipedia

Sometimes presidential candidates engage in hyperbole to make their point, but Romney is spot on in his assessment of Newt Gingrich. The former Speaker of the House is a hapless buffoon, a fraud, and a disgrace to humankind.

Newt Gingrich may not have met the legal definition of a lobbyist, but nobody could convincingly argue that he wasn`t an influence peddler. Newt, with a straight face, claims that Freddie Mac paid him an obscene amount of money to serve as a historian for them.

Mitt Romney is finally realizing that when dealing with a bully you throw nuance out the window, and call a spade a spade. Romney should attack Gingrich on every front, he should attack the portly politician on his woeful ethics in the realms of politics and business.

In a speech in Florida Mitt hit Gingrich hard:

He was a leader for four years as speaker of the House. And at the end of four years, it was proven that he was a failed leader and he had to resign in disgrace. I don`t know whether you knew that, he actually resigned after four years, in disgrace.

That`s the ticket, Romney needs to hit Gingrich again and again, until like the typical bully he cries: Uncle.

When facing a huge bully you don`t slap him on the face, that`s not going to knock him down. You pick up a two-by-four and hit him upside the head. Romney needs to pick up Gingrich`s heavy baggage and clobber him senseless.

On the stump, and especially in the debates, Romney must lay out his case against Newt Gingrich. The America public has a short memory, and Romney must remind the electorate that Gingrich is an ethically-challenged fraud.

Gingrich won the South Carolina primary because he bullied the debate moderators (Juan Williams and John King), and his fellow presidential hopefuls. Unlike Gingrich Romney is a gentleman, but if he doesn`t want to lose in Florida, he must go after Gingrich tooth and nail.

Rick Santorum and Ron Paul would be advised to do the same, hit Gingrich hard and often. It would be a disaster for the GOP and our democratic process if a thug like Gingrich wins the Republican nomination.

I`m very liberal, and it would be to my benefit if Gingrich won the Republican nomination, because President Obama would make mincemeat out of him. But as a patriot and a believer in the democratic process, I hope that sanity prevails and Mitt Romney wins.

Vero Beach Murder Mystery: Headless Corpse Discovered Behind Home

“An investigation is underway in Indian River County where police tell CBS 12 that a man`s body was found in a backyard.

Indian River County Sheriff`s officials tell CBS 12 a lawn maintenance crew found the body of a deceased male in the backyard of a Vero Beach home around 5:30 Wednesday evening. The body was found at a foreclosed home that has been vacant for years in the 4800 block of 61st Court.” -CBS12.Com

The body was badly decomposed and decapitated; I hope the maintenance crew had already eaten dinner before they found the gruesome remains.

The cops say they will treat this case as a homicide until they can rule out otherwise. You don`t have to be Sherlock Holmes to deduce that a body that has been decapitated is most likely a murder victim.

The body was found at a foreclosed home, losing your house is a horrible ordeal and if the body hadn`t been decapitated I would have guessed that the body was the homeowner. But it`s impossible to commit suicide by chopping off your own head.

The house had been empty for a couple of years, and the medical examiner has yet to determine how long ago the victim met his untimely death.

Vero Beach is a small city with a population of about 17,000, needless to say it`s not everyday that someone discovers a decapitated corpse. If you have any information about this case please call Treasure Coast Crimestoppers at 1-800-273-TIPS

Vero Beach Woman Arrested For Grabbing Hubby’s Manhood

“After a Vero Beach man showed his bruised left testicle to sheriff`s investigators, a woman was arrested and stands accused of grabbing her husband`s privates and refusing to let go for two minutes.

According to a report by TCPalm.com, Maryann Scott, 49, told Indian River County deputies her husband had taken a $15,000 ring he had given her and hid it.” -UPI

If a woman squeezed my privates demanding to know where I had hidden her expensive ring, I would sing like a soprano and tell her exactly where I hid it.

Maryann may be sadistic, but grabbing her husband by the family jewels is the best way to find out where he hid her jewel.

One little detail that needs to be emphasized is that Maryann was holding a knife while she was torturing her hapless husband. Hell, I would have told the evil woman not only the location of her ring, but how much money I had in my savings account, and anything else she wanted to know.

The cops took a photograph of the victim`s bruised manhood, I hope that the image doesn`t end up on the Internet, that would really be adding insult to injury.

Save for College or Save for Retirement?

Save for College or Save for Retirement?

With Mission Tuition YOU can do BOTH!

All parents want to send their kids to college, but more and more of us are finding it far too difficult to save for college in this time of rising tuition rates and a shaky economy.  In fact, it is getting to the point where we believe that ‘tapping’ into a 401K, or cashing in a retirement plan, will be the only way for our children to receive a ‘higher education.’

It was only a generation ago when parents made sure to put their child’s college funding as number one on their priority list, but many parents are now being forced to postpone their plans to save, or simply not save for college at all. Unemployment is a key factor in all this, as well as lower wages – and the urgency that everyone feels after each “congressional meeting” has come to a close, to save for their own retirement.  There are so many issues right now with Medicare and Social Security that people are truly living in fear.  They believe that their senior years will not be paid for, and that help will simply not be there when they arrive at the magic number.

The national unemployment rate stands at around nine to nine-point-two percent (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics), but the actual number may be much higher than that because many do not qualify for unemployment, while others have come to the end of their benefits. These, unfortunately are not the only issues we face.  There are a slew of workers who have had to take pay cuts in order to keep their jobs.  And, let’s face it, paying the mortgage and feeding our children has become a much bigger priority than saving for a college education.

The higher tuition rates, we’ve already covered in other articles, and they are still increasing much faster than inflation.

So now, with all other avenues exhausted, parents get to their retirement savings.  Parents know that it is taking far longer and becoming much more expensive to head into retirement.  Their future dreams of having a boat, or driving across America, or traveling…these are becoming more ‘Once Upon a Time’ stories than actual realistic facts.  Financial advisors are also now warning people that they may need to save two or three times the amount they thought they needed in order to have even a comfortable retirement.

Everyone wants to retire one day, and no one wants to live on Social Security benefits that – per our government – may be well under $1000 a month. All of this bad information and data causes one result:  Put money away in 401K’s instead of saving for college.

But can you do both?  Is it possible to save for college and still be able to save for you retirement and keep your 401K invested?  Yes…and that’s where this fantastic company comes in!

Mission Tuition figured out the ‘game play’ when it comes to being able to have an outlet for both retirement and education.  By partnering with all types of companies that YOU already know and shop at: Circuit City, Petco, SEARS, Walgreens - and the list goes on; everywhere you buy food, clothing, magazines, flowers, gifts, books, toys, games, appliances, automotive supplies – Mission Tuition has put together a way you can save for your child’s education without touching any retirement accounts, or stressing over where the money is going to come from!  You simply open up a FREE account with Mission Tuition; then, every time you make one of your regular daily purchases at these stores, or on the Mission Tuition website, you get money back that is deposited directly into an “educational savings account” that is held at Wells Fargo bank.  The coupons, rebates, in-store discounts – everything - is placed there, while you and your spouse and/or family decide what 529 plan will be the best for your child’s education

Retirement: Take full advantage of any retirement savings plan that is available at your workplace. Since employee contributions are deducted from your paycheck, this is a completely painless way to build up retirement savings.

College Education: You need to establish a 529 plan for your children.  One of the big advantages to these plans is their flexibility, and the fact that the parents control the savings within the plan. If your child is able to get a scholarship, the savings in the 529 plan can be used for another family member or withdrawn (with taxes and penalties on the earnings) and used for the parents’ retirements.

How to save for the 529 pan?  Simple. Sign up for a FREE account with Mission Tuition and the money you save every day simply begins to build in your “educational savings account.” Already, you are saving for retirement AND education in the easiest and most stress-free ways humanly possible.  But there is more.

You are the savings side of the equation on this subject, but your children are also part of the relationship.  They need to keep their grades up, participate in extracurricular activities, and make sure that when it is time to fill out their college applications, they have stunning credentials!  This comes with family discussions.  This way, with everyone involved, a child can find the right school which is the best match for their passion, drive, and savings, that will offer them a truly great future unhindered by paying back student loans.

Every state now has at least one 529 plan available, and it’s up to each state to decide whether it will offer a 529 plan and what it will look like, meaning 529 plans can differ from state to state. By making sure that you have signed up for a FREE Mission Tuition account, you can save every single day and give yourself time to research the features and benefits of every 529 plan before you invest.

There is no need to rush into something that you do not fully understand.  So, really, there is nothing more simple than opening a Mission Tuition FREE account; having an “educational savings account” held at Wells Fargo bank, while you shop on-line at Mission Tuition and in your already favorite stores.  Here, you receive the in-store discounts, as well as the advertised rebates from each of Mission Tuition’s retailers online.  All of this goes directly into the savings account. AND you can use any of your existing debit or credit cards to make purchases.  If your favorite card earns miles or points, you receive them in addition to Mission Tuition’s cash rebates, doubling your benefits with every purchase.  This really does give you the time to research the best 529 plan for your child’s education.

There are as many benefits to having a Mission Tuition account, by the way, as there are to one day being able to use the funds you have saved with Mission Tuition to fund a 529 plan.  With 529’s,  contributions are not deductible from the donor’s federal income tax liability, but many states provide state income tax deductions for all or part of the contributions of the donor. Beyond the potential state income tax deduction possibilities, a prime benefit of the 529 plan is that the principal grows tax-deferred and distributions for the beneficiary’s college costs are exempt from tax.

Everyone is eligible to take advantage of a 529 plan, and the amounts that can be put in are substantial (over $300,000 per beneficiary in many state plans). Generally, there are no income limitations or age restrictions.  So, as you use your FREE Mission Tuition account, and save the money that you did not even know you had, you can truly do an in-depth search on the best 529 pan that offers the best tax advantages.

Another little added extra bonus where 529’s are concerned?  The assets in a 529 are not counted as part of the donor’s gross estate for estate tax purposes.  Thus, 529 plans can be used as a perfect estate planning tool.

Mission Tuition is a truly ‘fresh’ and forward-thinking company that has found a way for ALL parents to find a bit of peace in this harsh economy.  With Mission Tuition and the incredible benefits they give, a parent can save for retirement AND save for college at the same time, with no worries!

If you have not checked out Mission Tuition yet – THIS is the time!

Until Next Time, Everybody.

Fantastic New Work of Fiction Delves Into the Ultimate “Bad Guy”

Fantastic New Work of Fiction Delves Into the Ultimate “Bad Guy”

Tallent & Lowery: 13 Present: The OTHER Loch Ness Monster… Aleister Crowley

It has been a long time since the name Aleister Crowley has been brought up in the fiction world, but once a person reads even a ‘snippet’ of who and what Aleister Crowley was, they will head directly to Google, or their local library, to try and find out exactly what he was doing down on earth in the first place.

Crowley has been called a genius by some and a monster by others; and Leah Tallent, the fictional Head Research Librarian of the New York Public Library, who is the ultimate star of the widely acclaimed book – 13 – finds herself following a mystery.  The mystery is unbelievably written by author, Amy Lignor, and immediately grabs readers and brings them into a ‘puzzle’ left behind by a group of men in 1902 – a group of men led by Andrew Carnegie.

Aleister Crowley is a big part of the puzzle as Tallent & Lowery – 13 leads readers from one amazing location to another, as Leah Tallent and Gareth Lowery hunt down artifacts that – when brought together – can literally change the world.  Aleister Crowley was the man who was in charge of hiding half of the twelve mysterious keys that Tallent & Lowery are searching for.  In fact, Crowley represented the ultimate ‘evil’ in the world, and was thus given the job to bury objects that could never again see the light of day.

Leah Tallent, in the first of seven Tallent & Lowery adventures, knows all about this man who was once referred to as “The Great Beast.”  She also knows that, at the beginning of his ‘reign’ he was very much revered by many.  Aleister Crowley was an influential Englishman who became an occultist, astrologer, mystic, and ceremonial magician.  He was responsible for founding his very own religious philosophy called, Thelema, and was also very into the rules of chess and the world of poetry, losing himself in the words of…Poe.  (Two other puzzle pieces that make this book impossible to put down!)

Crowley was born into pure and utter wealth, and was initiated into the Golden Dawn (a Masonic Order) in 1898 by the group’s leader.  The strange ceremony took place at Mark Masons Hall in London, where Crowley accepted his ‘Masonic’ motto and magical name of Fater Perdurabo, which meant, “I shall endure to the end.”  And that is exactly what some people believe Crowley has done.  Crowley developed many personal feuds with some of the Golden Dawn’s members, especially the poet, Yeats (who is also placed into this remarkable book as a piece of the ultimate puzzle).  Yeats had been one of the rebels, because Yeats had not been particularly favorable towards one of Crowley’s poems.

But because of his background in the Order, and Crowley seeing himself as a prophet, he was said to have been contacted by his Holy Guardian Angel, while in Egypt in 1904 – RIGHT after he had returned from his mission for Andrew Carnegie.

As time went on, Crowley became known as a hideous spirit.  Some even believed that he could be next in line for Lucifer’s job, because of the odd things that seemed to happen all around him.  But, as all crazy men do, Crowley was able to draw thousands of followers to his side and embark on a mystery that is still unknown today.

As readers race through the first Tallent & Lowery adventure – 13 - they stay by Leah’s side as a mystery unravels that is beyond heart-stopping.  Readers can barely take a breath when Leah Tallent finds herself on the shores of Loch Ness, because the fabled ‘monster’ that supposedly swims in the Loch is not the fearsome entity Leah’s worried about going up against.  In fact, even when the readers get a “look” at Leah’s destination – Boleskine House, an estate once owned by the Beast, himself – readers know that they’re about to be enveloped n yet another fantastic scene.

You see, Boleskine was renowned at the start of the 20th century as being “a centre of black magic, evil and sorcery” because the building was owned by none other than Aleister Crowley.  Once known as the “Beast of Boleskine,” Crowley walked the floors of the strange and eerie house while attempting to coax out the forces of evil.  As Leah Tallent soon finds out, it may not have been that difficult for Crowley to do so, seeing as that a “key” that Tallent & Lowery didn’t even know existed resides on that estate – a key that will change the whole course of the thrilling adventure.

The best part?  All of these locales and back-stories are absolutely true.  All around the estate, horrific things have happened over the years when Crowley was owner.  From deaths, to disappearances, to a church on the property being burned down with the whole congregation trapped inside – magic rituals were said to have taken place there that supposedly invoked the four princes of evil.

It was Crowley, himself, who first wrote about the strange and eerie homestead:

“The demons and evil forces had congregated round me so thickly that they were shutting off the light. It was a comforting situation. There could be no more doubt of the efficiency of the operation.”  This was one of Crowley’s magical experiments done at the estate.  Do What Thou Wilt was a motto of Crowley’s – he believed in free will and not the laws of man or God – and the mysteries he left behind (many of them documented) still engage the interest of historians, archaeologists, and readers on every level.

Now, Leah Tallent knows (this librarian is so cool, she knows everything), that Aleister Crowley had spoken a great deal about his infamous house, including giving out the information that, “…this ends in a “lodge” where the spirits may congregate.  And, sure enough, as Leah Tallent and Gareth Lowery walk this frightening property, they see the Gate Lodge - a separate building that Crowley had used that holds the power they need.

People, you may ask yourself how on earth the author was able to fit together locales like Whitechapel, the haunted Winchester Mansion in San Jose, California, Boleskine House, and the site of the Last Supper.  But Tallent & Lowery is such a fantastic read, that it seems as if the author simply knew from the beginning that this “puzzle” actually existed.

Tallent & Lowery – 13 is the first in a seven-book series that will take readers from the shores of Loch Ness to the Palace at Knossos, to Cleopatra’s Mines, and to some of the most amazing (and sometimes, little known) places across the globe, as these two fantastically intriguing characters solve mysteries, uncover treasures, and find themselves drawn to each other with a power and passion that neither has ever experienced before.

Tallent & Lowery – 13 has only been on the market two days and has already gotten “5-star” reviews across the board.  Readers are already begging for Book II – titled, The Sapphire Storm, where Tallent & Lowery will find themselves locked in a brand new puzzle that includes the “real” Shakespeare, the buildings in Petra, and the discovery of a long-lost sibling.

Get on board with Tallent & Lowery right now and you will not be disappointed.  It is about time there came a “DaVinci Code” that appeals to absolutely everyone!  And boot up you computers, because you will be Google-‘ing’ all night long to find out even more information about the locales and people that cross this amazing librarian’s path.

The ‘Ultimate Bad Guy’ has re-surfaced in this exciting new series, and the time to uncover the true secret of Loch Ness is finally here!

Tallent & Lowery: 13 is available on Amazon:

A Leader Worth Following: Failure is Not An Option

Since the beginning, my experience with Judyth Piazza and The SOP News Network has been rewarding. I enjoy working with people who show commitment in everything they do, making me feel less of a contributor but instead a valued family member.

Judyth Piazza has been a fabulous mentor, the wisdom and knowledge she has shared with me has been useful in so many ways. Being a relatively young writer, Judyth has provided me with a plethora of knowledge and resources for the benefit of my writing projects. Her recommendations and insights have further enabled me to improve my craft. With her support, not only have I enhanced my writing capabilities, but gained a better appreciation for the overall craft.

Being a college student, (especially under the current world climate we find ourselves in) I find myself at odds with the functions of the world surrounding me. Not so much for the natural world but for how our society functions in general. As a wildlife major, my appreciation for wildlife and nature is beyond words. I yearn for a world at peace with nature and people. Anybody who reads my writings know that nature has a huge influence over my work, I like to think of nature as a character rather than just a setting.

A huge portion of writing happens for the most part by surprise, which is what I enjoy about the whole writing process. In my opinion, surprise is everything. The joy of writing by impulse is the spontaneity of it all, the surprise that just so happens to come with it is the result of you finally opening your heart to the possibilities out there, allowing me to further enjoy the process of writing. In the end, it enables me to attempt to begin to understand the power that words actually wield.

While working with TheSOP.org and Judyth I feel that I’ve been provided with an outlet to further express my opinions and ideas. With their support, I’ve been able to write articles on a variety of topics; additionally helping me by allowing me to express my view on a number of different issues. I stand today; having a combination of perseverance, patience, and integrity gained by what life I’ve lived so far. My hope is that my writing reflects that, as I attempt to reflect these values in everything I do.

A Very Grave Scenario for FL

“A very grave scenario.” “Very catastrophic.” That is how Federal officials are describing the situation developing in the Gulf of Mexico after the Deepwater Horizon oil rig sunk off the coast of Louisiana last week.

Some estimate that 210,000 gallons of oil are spilling into the Gulf every day – resulting in a slick roughly the size of the state of West Virginia.

Oil has already washed ashore the coast of Louisiana and a state of emergency has been declared in several of Florida’s Panhandle counties.

Now is the time to act and protect our coasts.

Offshore drilling is a threat to our state’s economy and environment and I’m the only candidate in this race who has been consistently against its expansion. In the wake of the oil spill, Charlie Crist and Marco Rubio are finally changing their stances on drilling, but it is too little, too late.

Today, I am calling for a moratorium on expansion of oil drilling in the Gulf and off the shores of Florida. Join with me today.

Click here to sign our petition right now and stand with me in demanding Charlie Crist and Marco Rubio call for a moratorium on expansion of oil drilling in the Gulf.

Expanded drilling won’t solve our energy problems. It will only increase the chance for accidents that cost Florida families their livelihoods.

I will continue to fight to protect Florida’s economy and deal with the aftermath of this disaster, but we need to send one loud and clear message today.

Sign my petition and let’s tell Charlie Crist and Marco Rubio that we aren’t going to take any more chances with our state’s environment or economy.

I need your help right now.

Sincerely,

Kendrick Meek

Old Codger Robbed Banks To Pay Mortgage

“Tampa, Florida – Looking more like a grandpa than a wanted bank robber, 73-year-old James Bruce toddled front and center at Orient Road Jail.

Bruce was arrested on Thursday after detectives said he was robbing banks to pay his mortgage.

According to a criminal report, Bruce walked into three different banks in south Tampa. Each time, investigators allege, he would request $600 in $100-dollar bills then pass a handwritten note to the teller, ‘No alarms and wait 4 minutes.’” Read More

This elderly thug is being treated with kids gloves simply because of his age. The clueless judge set bond at only $22,000, and ordered the old codger to stay out of the banks that he robbed.

bank robber
If the judge had set a 19-year-old kid who robbed several banks free on bail, he would be ridden on a rail out of town.

I don’t have a smidgen of sympathy for the old devil, all of us, young and old, are having a tough time paying our bills in these hard economic times.

The 73-year-old monster should spend the rest of his life behind bars, where he won’t have to worry about paying his mortgage.
