It’s All About the Birds! Angel Wings Parrot Rescue

We are a Treasure and Space Coast based Parrot Rescue located in Sebastian Florida, we have been rescuing birds for 11 years and I have fostered for two other parrot rescues.

Due to the volume of requests to take unwanted or unable to keep parrots in my area, I chose to open my own not for profit rescue. We also have a parrot store on eBay as well as an e- commerce store. The store sells parrot related items and food, not birds.

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and find the correct forever home for our feathered friends. All donations and re-homing fees are for the transportation, vet bills, and care of the parrots. Here we are all about the birds.

If you have a parrot you are unable to care for any longer, or are interested in adopting a feathered friend, or just wish to foster a bird, please contact us…below is a link to our stores, feel free to check it out and look at our feedback.

If you have a unwanted bird contact Kerry Lewis or Cindy Nichols.

Getting Your Pet Insured

These days, veterinarians are using high cost Petmeds and surgical instruments, and people’s expectations of how well a pet should live have also gone up. As a result, people are often spending on pets as much as they spend on themselves, especially when it comes to medical care.   If you have recently acquired a pet, it makes sense to get the pet insured, so that you can secure yourself against pet diseases, financially.

When you sign up for a pet insurance policy, there are some things you should check for. In the US, there is an 80 to 90 percent deductible on medical coverage; make sure you know the exact amount. Also, investigate the reputation for prompt payment for the issuer, and whether they directly pay the vet for very large bills.

You must also check to see whether the insurance company covers for preventive care like vaccines as well as for optional medical procedures like neutering. This is known as comprehensive coverage, and if your pet is young, it is a good idea to get this cover.

Another technicality to look out for is whether the insurance issuer is offering life time coverage or non-lifetime coverage. The difference is that, in the later, if a claim is made one year for a certain medical condition, then the following year, that particular condition will be excluded from the list of possible claims. Understandably, you will want to get lifetime coverage, even if it costs more. Make sure the lifetime coverage offered is a fully lifetime coverage, and not coming with various small print constraints like “per condition, per year” or “per condition.”

There are also non-medical insurances like pet boarding costs when its owner is in a hospital, or stolen or lost pet coverage covering detecting costs.
